FVLA Mission Statement:

  1. To protect and preserve Upper Victory and Sunset Lakes as well as the wildlife associated with them
  2. To promote knowledge about the lakes in an educational manner
  3. To educate others about the history of the lakes to increase community involvement
  4. To provide recreational activity for the betterment of the community
  5. To prevent community deterioration and prevent juvenile delinquency

WE ARE A QUALIFIED 501(c)3 A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION.


F.Y.I. - Sunset Beach is closed for swimming in 2012, due to the projected  Dam restoration project.

General Description – ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD BE COMPUTER LITERATE W/ E-MAIL CAPABILITIES

President: Innovative thinker, business smart and community focused. Manage & oversee the corporation. Represent the organization for any state, county or township meeting if required. Manages general membership meetings. Willingness to learn NJDEP – Dam Safety regulations.

Vice President: Business/Development Director, Manages neighborhood watch, oversees the property. Represent the organization for any state, county or township meeting if required. Willingness to learn NJDEP – Dam Safety regulations. Steps in for President when not available.

Board Secretary: Handles all administrative duties for the organization. Manage Membership database, Chairs the membership drive, Creation and distribution of newsletter and flyers. Willingness to learn NJDEP Green Acres regulations. Seek donations, research new grant opportunities. Capable of taking on tasks and projects and following through to completion.

volunteer information for running board members

- Must be present & participate at all MAJOR FVLA functions. (Approximately 3 events a year)

- Able to attend one monthly board meeting (Board does not meet during June & July) Yearly attend four membership meetings.

- Approximately 6 to 10 hours weekly. Most volunteer hours are done through email.

- PC experience helpful.

- A willingness to learn about non-profit and state requirements.

- Dedicated to maintaining the lakes, wildlife and recreation within the community.

ANY MEMBER WHO LIVES OUTSIDE OF VICTORY LAKES MAY ALSO RUN FOR BOARD MEMBER.

- One of FVLA IRS requirements is to have a board member who lives OUTSIDE the community. Any seasonal member may run as a board member.
